One Pack for the Trail, the Terminal and Everyday: The Zorali Escapade Backpack

Most daypacks force a choice: comfortable enough for a real hike, or smart enough to carry into the office — rarely both.
The Zorali Escapade Backpack is one of the few we've tried that genuinely refuses to pick a lane. Inspired by old-school 80s rucksack designs and refined over more testing than anything else in Zorali's range, it's a 30-litre, Australian-designed all-rounder that's just as at home wading a jungle river crossing as it is stashed in an overhead locker. It's the pack Zorali has sold out of ten times over, and it's easy to see why.
Out on the trail it's the details that win you over. The tough 1000D Oxford nylon shell shrugs off scrub, rock and river spray, the padded shoulder straps and chest clip spread the load evenly, and the detachable waist belt takes the weight off your shoulders on the climbs. Strip the belt off and it instantly becomes a clean, understated everyday bag — no dangling straps, no 'technical' overkill.
30L across 8 clever pockets
A big main compartment plus quick-access front pocket, a top valuables pouch that keeps sunglasses out of the crush zone, internal slip pockets and a key clip — there's a logical home for everything, big and small.
Bombproof 1000D Oxford nylon
Rugged Cordura-grade nylon with heavy-duty YKK zippers handles genuinely rough conditions, and it's all backed by Zorali's lifetime repair warranty — damage it and they'll fix it free.
Carries heavy, comfortably
Thickly padded shoulder straps and a chest clip distribute the load, while the removable waist belt (added on community feedback) transfers weight to your hips for heavier, longer days.
Travel and work ready
A side-entry, raised 16" padded laptop sleeve protects your device at the airport, side pockets swallow water bottles or a tripod, tether straps hold hiking poles, and the roll-top expands to fit a light tent and gear — yet it still packs down flat as carry-on.

Our final opinion
The Escapade earns its 'one pack does it all' reputation. At 880g it's light for how much it carries, the 1000D nylon and YKK hardware feel built to outlast years of abuse, and the switch from trail pack to city bag takes about five seconds. The laptop sleeve and roll-top are what push it beyond a normal daypack into genuine travel territory.
If you want a single, good-looking, seriously durable pack that covers day hikes, weekends away, carry-on travel and the daily commute — and you like that it's Australian-designed and carbon neutral with a lifetime warranty — the Zorali Escapade is one of the easiest recommendations we've made.
