I would highly recommend hiring Martin's beautiful VW camper van. My partner and I decided to try a camper van holiday as we have been seriously considering buying one ourselves, so we saw it as a great opportunity to try before we buy and see if we were suited to the lifestyle. It was easy to choose Martin's van, as well as being local to us, it had all the spec we were looking for and looked stunning. The van's interior is designed beautifully by Camper King, loads of usable storage, a decent sized fridge, a heater, a grill as well as the usual gas hobbs and comes supplied with all the essentials required, We planned our 10 trip around the Exmoor and Pembrokeshire coast and were a bit concerned about the van being a long wheel base and if we would be able to navigate the tiny coast roads and get into standard parking spaces. We needn't have worried too much as the van drove like a dream and coped with the famously steep and twisting Porlock Hill in Devon admirably. We didn't come across a road that we couldn't manage although there were obviously some occasions when reversing up to suitable passing opportunities was necessary - par for course for any van. When we visited supermarkets we tended to park further away from the store so we had more room in the less popular spaces but on the whole the van fitted most parking spaces. The long wheel base gives you valuable interior space too, which now I've experienced, I wouldn't want to loose. I would recommend taking a padded mattress protector with you as well as your under-sheet as this gives you a little more extra comfort on top of the leather/leatherette upholstery on the rib bed. This van is a looker and we received lots of admiring glances from the other van owners both at the camp sites we stayed in and out on the road. We had the most wonderful holiday in this van and honestly did not really want to return it to Martin when we arrived home. Martin was very amicable and great at communication throughout the process, He was also flexible with both the pick-up and drop off of the van which made the experience relaxed and stress-free.
Just got back from a lovely weekend in Martins Campervan - the van was a big hit with the family and despite there being 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog we didn't really feel like we were squashed in. The van had everything we needed for the weekend break and flexible pickup location was also really handy for us. Just looking now for when I can rebook it!
