The World Surf League is finally back and the Australian leg of the tour starts April 1st, 2021. For all of you who love to go to the beach and catch some waves or watch people who surf and do awesome tricks, we have an overview of the world surf league champions tour for men and women. Imagine renting an RV, going there and watching the championship with your friends. How cool would that be?
Stop 1- Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach
The Championship tour kicks off with a qualifying round on 16th till 19th February at Boomerang Beach, NSW to warm you up. The Australian leg of the championship starts at the iconic Bells Beach, Victoria on April 1st-11th. The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach is the longest running WSL event and sits in a prestigious realm of its own. Along with winning a World Title, a win at Bells is a coveted achievement that every professional surfer dreams to accomplish. Traditionally running on the Easter weekend (April 4th) for over 55 years, the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach sees huge crowds brave the elements to witness surfing history and see which surfing legend rings the iconic bell.
There are only a few caravan parks nearby like Jan Juc Caravan Park. I suggest you book early to reserve your spot. The next closest park will be Torquay Holiday Park 10 minutes to the North. Click here to see 7 parks to choose from within the area.
There is plenty of room in this Ford Transit from Super-owner Fred.
2nd Stop – Margaret River Pro
The second stop is West to Perth. The Margaret River Pro kicks off just a few days later from April 16th-26th. This is one of Australia’s premier destinations and wine regions, Margaret River is one of the best in the world. It’s the only wine region in Australia where you can move from award-winning wineries and restaurants to stunning beaches, tall-timber forests, world-class surf breaks, and ancient caves.
The RAC Margaret River Nature Park is also worth checking out.

The final leg will be held in Queensland at the Corona Open Gold Coast By Billabong. For more than 40 years, the Gold Coast of Australia has been a bedrock of professional surfing. It’s produced more World Champions than any other place on the planet, thanks to its ample supply of waves and talent that have made Coolangatta the epicentre of the Australian surf scene.
The Corona Open Gold Coast presented by Billabong, hosted at Snapper Rocks, is the preeminent stage, supplying waves that allow surfers to showcase the highest calibre of performance surfing just yards away from thousands of cheering fans.
