Your calendar is the only indication for your potential renter to know whether or not your motorhome, campervan or caravan will be available for their preferred travel dates. The calendar is also the only way you can manage seasonal pricing and special offers. So what happens if your calendar is not up-to-date?
You have to reject a valuable booking because your vehicle is not available even though your calendar says it is. This means you have to respond to a request you don’t actually want just to maintain your stats and it leaves a frustrated potential renter behind. Or you miss out on a booking because your calendar indicates that your motorhome, campervan or caravan is not available even though it actually is.
If your calendar is current you don’t have to waste your time to respond to reservation requests when your vehicle is unavailable. As a nice extra, an up-to-date calendar improves your visibility in the Camptoo search results. This means that your vehicle will be viewed by more visitors, thus improving your chances of getting a nice booking significantly.
When updating your calendar, make sure you don’t update a few weeks ahead only. We already have bookings lined up for in 10 months from now, so it’s best to have your calendar set several months out.

Another way to help you get awesome bookings is by setting up different minimum hire periods for different seasons as well as indicate to your potential renter that you are more flexible with your pick-up and drop-off times.
Minimum hire periods for different seasons
In your settings you are able to set different minimum hire periods for peak, shoulder and low season or even for certain weeks of the year. Simply log-in to your account and navigate to the settings of your listing. There you’ll see a special settings section that looks like this.
If you want different minimum hire periods just click the “Set special settings” button and a pop-up will appear. There you can enter the start and end dates and the minimum hire period for these dates. This way you will only receive reservation requests that match your minimum hire requirements for this period.
Flexible pick up and return times
For even more flexibility in your listing settings, our development team has implemented a flexible pick up and drop off feature. If you allow for different pick up and drop off times, you can indicate this by selecting your preferred pick and drop off times and the settings section of your listing.
You can either select your own pick-up times or the flexible option. Of course, you can also charge an early pick-up and/or late drop-off fee. Just mention that extra fee in the description and/or house rule section of your listing. If a renter chooses this option, simply let us know by sending an email to email@example.com and we will amend your booking with the extra charges.
It might take some time to regularly update your calendar and set up minimum hire periods for different times but we can assure you, it’s definitely time well spent!
